Why small businesses should use WordPress

WordPress is the most popular content management system (CMS) for a reason. Twenty-two percent of all websites online – that’s around 80 million websites – are built using WordPress. Some of the major reasons why WordPress is so popular are because:

  • It is easy to learn – WordPress is open source software. It’s also simple and has extensive documentation as well as free training videos
  • It has many plugins and themes – You don’t need to be a rockstar developer to start building sites with WordPress. In some cases, you don’t even need to touch code to achieve the results you want.
  • It is powerful – You can build so much, like an online store, blog, membership, contact forms, very easily and rapidly by simply utilizing premium themes and plugins.

WordPress is easy to use

One of the best things about using WordPress for a client site is how easy it is to get the client trained. They can be up-and-running in minutes. This gives them more confidence, makes them more productive, and they feel good about using WordPress for their business. The user interface is super easy to understand an intuitive; even without any training at all, most of my clients could easily figure out how to create and publish a new blog post. And with each new version of WordPress, things keep getting easier for the end-user. WordPress is great at staying out of the way so you create the content you need to keep your business running smoothly.

WordPress is incredibly well-supported

Having problems? Not to worry. Because it is the most widely-used CMS out there, WordPress has a huge community of help and support. You’re not limited to just one WordPress support option either, there are literally thousands of WordPress-related support sites out there with answers to just about everything you could possibly think of. Whenever I run into an issue with WordPress I do a Google search and almost always find a solution. When I get really stuck I’ll post a question in one of the many support forums I frequent where the WordPress community has always been extremely helpful. It’s great peace of mind knowing there’s always a solution out there and that your business website will always be working for you.

The bottom line is that you cannot go wrong by choosing to power your small business on WordPress. It is a solid, powerful, versatile platform that keeps getting better and better.
